In August we are releasing the "John Derek Bishop Collages" album. The album is a collaboration between singer / songwriter Sebastain Waldejer and DJ / producer John Derek Bishop (Afeeliated / Piskopos). John Derek plays around with Sebastian Waldejer´s debut album "Rise Of The Urban Child" to create a combination of remixes and sound collages where indie pop meets hip hop and electronica with a touch of jazz.

The hardcore stonerrock band known as PHAT was first conceived in 2006 when guitar strangler Benjamin Waldejer hooked up with his longtime friend and partner in crime, drummer Marius Grøtte. They started off jamming in the attic of a nearby mental institution, where Marius was employed at the time. There they spent their evenings combining their musical preferences into what has come to be known as THE PHATNESS. They both have the same perception of what music to play and always focus on heavy guitar riffs over pounding drum grooves.
For the next two years the band played as an instrumental duo, playing gigs in and around Stavanger. During this two year period they also recorded their live instrumental album «Live@Orre» which was previously available at their MySpace page.
In the early spring of 2008 they asked their old friend and notorious hardcore poet, Øyvind Munthe, if he would consider doing some vocals with the duo. It was a perfect match and ever since the frantic screams, microphone abuse and aggressive flows have complemented the massive sound of PHAT.
Since then they've played gigs wherever and whenever, ranging from the hardest rock venues to private parties and openair events. No matter where they play they always deliver the distinct sound that is ferocious and Phat.
The band started the recordings of their debut EP the summer of 2009

Sebastian Waldejer is an Indie-pop artist hailing from Stavanger who has been attracting a lot of attention in the last couple of years after his 2006 EP release ..Porcelain Baby... 2008, the culture year of Stavanger, Norway, was dedicated to the making of his much anticipated debut album collaborating with various artists such as Morten Abel and Børge Fjorheim (Cloroform and Morten Abel), and US producer Ashley Stubbert. This fantastic artistic rendering of his pop sensibility will be released August 24th, on Checkpoint Charlie Audio Productions. Christer Wulff is a singer/songwriter from Tromsø, a small city at the northernmost tip of Norway. And perhaps the long dark winters or bright short summers have inspired him to lure out the contrast and nerve in each song. Maybe the early fondness for Elvis or the childhood days with Traveling Wilburys' Vol. 1 has shaped his sound into what PopMatters refer to as “A soul-bearing balladeer with booming vocal bravado”. Or it could simply be that his nomadic past of living in Berlin, New York or Central Asia have formed his eclectic songwriting.
Live he varies his shows by bringing his trumpet player, the upright bass, an organ, drums, a backing vocalist or just his acoustic. Regardless, the songs are always upfront, honest and heartfelt.
